Jesse James Brainerd was born May 5, 1987, in Fargo, ND, to Douglas and Tami (Bjornstad) Brainerd. He grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo North in 2005. He was currently attending North Dakota State University majoring in respiratory therapy and working part-time at the Fargo Assembly Company.
Jesse earned his black belt in Taekwando at the age of eleven. He was the State Champion nine times and went to Nationals four times. Jesse also loved the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or spending time at the lake with his family and friends
Jesse died on Saturday, January 27, 2007. He not only had many friends, but two great brothers and a fiancé, Kaylie. Jesse will be missed by many.
He is survived by his parents, Douglas and Tami; his brothers, Justin and Tyler; his grandparents, Loren and Anita Bjornstad; a nephew, Blade; his fiancé, Kaylie; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Virginia Brainerd; and an aunt, Lori Bjornstad.

Gathering of Friends: Tuesday from 5 – 7 PM with a Prayer Service at 7 PM in Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Fargo.

Memorial Service: Wednesday (1/31/07) at 2 PM in Pontoppidan Lutheran Church.
